To create a paragraph style:

Create a textbox, enter text and edit it (change font size, color etc)
then highlight this text and click paragraph styles (button in bar on right hand side)
> select the menu on the paragraph styles tab.
name the new style... I will call it 'new style' for explanations sake.

To use the new style, type some text, highlight it then click on 'new style'.
Watch in amazement as it changes to your newly created paragraph style.
